A handful of the many wonderful comments I have received from my fantastic clients. Reading these often, reminds me as to why I work so hard to achieve above & hopefully beyond my customers’ expectations…
JacobyI commissioned Lisa Watkins, of Animal Art by LAW, to do a portrait of our Great Dane, Jacoby. He was our heart dog, and we lost him last September. Lisa suggested the white on black style to bring out the textures in his fur and the color of his eyes. What she drew was absolutely amazing! Jacoby’s personality shines through beautifully, and we have a window to his soul hanging in our living room! Lisa is an amazing animal artist, and if I ever want another drawing, I will most definitely come to her! Thank you so much Lisa, for such a wonderful heirloom of our heart dog!”Margee
“When I was first introduced to Lisa Ann Watkins’s amazing work I knew that I was going to need to commission a portrait for my heart dog, Bogey. We had just lost him a few months earlier and I felt that one of Lisa’s wonderful works would be a way for Bogey to return to us and mend our hearts. From the moment I reached out to her I knew how special this process would be. For Lisa the process is a journey. She asked to see pictures and even video of Bogey so she knew she was really capturing him in her strokes. She also didn’t consider the work final/complete until I had approved it…she wanted so much to ensure that he was exactly as we expected. No one who has seen Bogey’s breathtaking portrait cannot believe how life like it is, many have made comments like “You would think you could feel his fur if you touched the canvas” and “It’s as if he’s really there, look at his EYES!” And when you look at the beautiful portrait it truly is as if he is really there…I don’t know how Lisa manages to do it, but it’s as if she channels the animal she is drawing and brings them to life through her pencils and her love.”
CowboyI approached Lisa at Animal Art by Law because l had just had to have my very treasured horse put to sleep. I had no idea what to expect or what l wanted.Lisa was extremely professional, kind, informative and supportive to me, she wasn’t at all pushy, she happily answered all of the silly question l put to her. She gave me a date of when the portrait would be started. When she asked for a character statement of my horse l was amazed that so much went into what l thought was just drawing a picture.Once Lisa started the portrait she would send me daily updates on her progress, everyone of these that were sent made me cry the likeness was amazing.Lisa has given me the most precious thing that anyone could give me, a lasting memory of my beautiful boy.I would not hesitate to recommend Lisa to anybody in the future she has a very special talent and isa truly lovely lady.Thank you Lisa.
“What to give my non materialistic husband for his 60th birthday? The perfect solution, an amazing portrait of his retired springer spaniel Zac which I commissioned with Lisa after seeing portraits of other working dogs in her Gallery on line. From the first conversation, through all the clandestine phone calls and furtive meetings in the wood so she could meet Zac in “his environment”, I cannot praise Lisa enough. She instantly picked up on Zacs personality and has managed to captured his quirky character. My hubby, not normally an emotional type of guy was visibly moved when he unwrapped his surprise present. Zac now hangs next to our fireplace and we both find ourselves gazing back and forth between dog and portrait. The best present you can give thanks to Lisa’s amazing talent.”
“Owners tend to see features and traits in their pets which are so personal that they cannot imagine these being recreated in a portrait from photographs.
Lisa, however, has managed to do this to perfection and has produced a brilliant portrait of our beautiful Bengal, Kansa.
Such an easy process as well. Just submit your favourite photos by email and Lisa sends regular stage updates to enable you to input your suggestions.
A wonderful opportunity to immortalise your beloved pet.
I highly recommend Lisa’s work.”
“Where do I begin? Lisa is not only an incredible artist, but she is also a very special lady. I first learnt of her amazing work through the charity, Romanian Underdogs. We have both adopted dogs from Romania and having won a competition run by the charity, the prize was a bespoke portrait of my dog. Lisa was incredibly professional and very helpful, guiding me through the various options and styles available to me.
She kept me updated at several stages during the process, posting me updates (which was optional). At every update I was delighted with the progression of the portrait.
Her attention to detail is superb. The completed piece is incredible and arrived much sooner than expected I would have no hesitations whatsoever in recommending Lisa. She is very talented lady and devoted to her charities, animals and work! I have lost count at the amount of compliments I have received about the piece and it looks amazing hung on the wall. If anyone is considering a portrait then Lisa Watkins is your lady!”
Love is Like a Butterfly
We are so fortunate to own one of Lisa’s pictures! But as important to us has been “meeting” Lisa on Facebook. You see, it was there that I first saw my amazing picture, asking and receiving answers to my questions from Lisa and shortly deciding I HAD to have my picture!! This was all done on the Internet! My picture arrived from England to Missouri in perfect condition and in a timely manner Lisa shared my excitement while we waited for the framer to call saying it was ready. And, Lisa really liked what I had chosen AND where I d Have it hung What a great experience. I love this lovely picture as does everyone who sees it A work from Lisa is a work of love. I marvel at her talent and I recommend her to you! I consider her my friend It truly was kismet. She is a true animal lover and that shows clearly in her work”
‘Words are not enough to describe this ladies talent. She has created a perfect portrait of our baby a surprise gift for my hubby for Christmas. Ellie is very old now but Lisa is so caring and helped me choose a lovely picture of her capturing her youth.
She has become a friend I feel and really cares about the subjects which some how makes it feel more special. Her talent is amazing & I feel I have a friend for life even though I have never met her I feel like she knows us and Ellie.
Thank you Lisa”
“Our daughter’s horse is getting to be an old fellow now and we thought it would be lovely for her to have a painting of him. Photographs are great but there is something very special about a painting. We met Lisa at Love Underdogs in Nuneaton and became aware of her gift as an artist and I asked her to paint our border collie, Skye, for my husband’s birthday. We were so impressed so thought she was the perfect person to commission to paint Glenborough Lad. Lisa chose the pose from the many photos I emailed and to say we were delighted with the finished portrait is an under-statement. Seeing our daughter’s face when she unwrapped her gift was such a pleasure. Now, we hope she will soon have a window in her busy life to paint our lovely Romanian rescue, Mariuca. Perhaps it is Lisa’s love of animals that shines through in her paintings . I would not hesitate to recommend her as an artist.”
“I got in touch with Lisa last year with a view to commissioning a picture of our greyhound/staffie cross, Grace, as a Christmas present for my wife. Lisa made the time to meet me and Grace, and to get a feel for what I was after. For someone who has never commissioned a piece of art before, Lisa made the whole process very simple and unintimidating. Her passion for her subjects was clear straight away, as is her pride in her work. I received occasional emails with photos of progress to date, which inspired total confidence. The final piece is amazing – it captures all the small details and expression that make it unmistakeably Grace – an incredible skill. Lisa also provided a short video illustrating the steps from blank paper to finished article. Showing my wife the video before giving the present was priceless – I recommend doing the same if buying Lisa’s art as a gift.
My only complaint is that I don’t think I’m going to be able to top this next Christmas”
